Those are actually FASTER than some F1 cars last year. The pole sitter from the Super Formula Suzuka race would have started 19th at the Japanese GP. They're so light that 540 HP is ample. Very cool. I bet that if they had more advanced aero these cars could be mid-pack battlers.

Well the F1 cars were teething, they are expected to go 4 seconds faster this year, it will only improve. But yeah those cars are cool, I'm glad Kamui found a place after all the moving around. Its cool he drove for Ferrari at Le Mans.

I know, I'm just saying that it's not necessarily a huge step down in speed/thrill.

Yeah I doubt its boring, better than a Caterham. I wonder if he wishes he stayed with Ferrari and endurance or if he just wants to get back to single seat. If Ferrari goes LMP1 in a few years he might have moved up, Ferrari said they understood that he wanted to go back to F1.

I think it's a shame that McLaren chose Perez over him when they nabbed a Sauber driver.

Yeah all that Mexican money, Kamui never had much cash. I think he would have done well, but McLaren would have gone after Alonso anyway and probably picked Jenson to help develop the comeback car. But it would have been nice to see him at McLaren, he might have moved to a better team.

True that. I'm annually surprised when Nico Hulkenberg doesn't get picked up by a big-budget team, but alas... His drive at Brazil 2012 was astounding until he crashed, but it was still quite the 20-odd laps of leading the pack!

Well it all comes down to contracts and being free at the right time, plus money and sponsors I would imagine. So its complicated, none of the big teams are changing except to get a Vettel or Alonso. Button may go at some point, Kimi could retire. I would say if Kimi retired, again, Hulk might be seriously be looked at. But who knows, so much crap going on we don't even know about. Watching that farewell to Ferrari video Alonso did, I kept thinking how much was going on that wasn't being told.
